BASIC MAT PILATES COURSE

A comprehensive introductory course for mat-based Pilates.  This 30 hour course includes the history of Joseph Pilates, complete breakdown of 23 exercises with modifications, the principles of mat-based Pilates movements, postural analysis review, teaching practice, and basic anatomy and physiology.

 

 
 

 

ADVANCED MAT PILATES COURSE

Developed and written by Annika Carlson for FTP Japan

A 24 hour course for graduates of the Basic Mat Pilates Course teaching mat-based and evolved Pilates.   Participants will learn and gain confidence in teaching the complete traditional mat repertoire, learn as many Pilates-based exercises as possible, be able to answer common questions that arise in class, be able to teach to a variety of fitness levels, be able to teach more modifications and progressions for exercises, and broaden skills as an instructor to enrich teaching all fitness formats.

This 16 hour training program is designed to teach fitness leaders how to integrate mind/body activities into their fitness programs.  Specific techniques based on a selection of exercises and postures from Yoga, Pilates and Fitness Conditioning are presented.  The approach is centered on physiology and biomechanics including joint safety, modifications and adaptations of the more traditional forms of mind/body training.

Fusion Fitness Training is a non-purist approach to traditional forms of training.  It is perfect blend of Yoga, Pilates and Fitness Conditioning that challenges strength, balance & flexibility, increases stamina, focuses the mind and cleanses the spirit.

An 8 hour course incorporating traditional and evolved mat-based exercises with some reformer work on the GTS unit.

The Matwork Series utilizes the GTS incline to ensure success for various strength and flexibility levels.  Participants can perform the traditional mat repertoire without exercise modification or muscle substitution.  Matwork focuses on abdominal stabilization, fundamental spinal movement and kinesthetic awareness.  Matwork utilizes the Double Leg Pulley System.

 
 

 

GRAVITYPilates: Corework

An 8 hour course based on traditional and evolved reformer exercise, including abdominal work but also upper and lower body resistance work on the GTS unit.

The Corework Series presents the traditional reformer repertoire with enhanced Pilates-evolved exercises unique to the GTS.  These sequences challenge core dynamic by adding greater resistance through the pulley system to achieve flexibility and control.  The GTS incline permits instructors to initiate exercises earlier while promoting correct technique.  Corework incorporates all GTS Pilates accessories.
